Nokia’s Advisory on BL-5C Battery is Exemplary
August 18, 2007
How many big players have the courage to face adversaries such openly as did by NOKIA recently? The problems that showed up with a section of the BL-5C battery series of Nokia can be solved in-house without the hype. But since the bond that binds the brand with its customers is so strong and convincing that Nokia never have to worry about its reputation. Infact, its daring announcement has given customers the flexibility and freedom to act wisely with their devices.
Nokia has identified that in very rare cases the affected batteries could potentially experience over heating initiated by a short circuit while charging, causing the battery to dislodge. Apparently 100 cases have been identified and no major losses were reported due to this. Nokia is working closely with relevant local authorities to investigate this situation.
One can checked whether his/her cell is within the defected slot just by visiting the Nokia website (http://batteryreplacement.nokia.com/batteryreplacement/en/) and do a self test as per guidelines mentioned there.
